For your 299 number in Joint Entrance Examination of UP(JEECUP) ,you dont have any chance of getting any polytechnic colleges in UP as your number is too high to clear the cutoff. The cutoff that with maximum number was 84 for diploma in aircraft maintenance engineering. So yes try for private colleges or study again and appear for it.
