Because cutoffs of Nit are high and even cutoffs changes every year. But chances looks not possible.
I would recommend you to apply for other states government and private colleges which accepts Jee mains marks for admission.
You can also apply for admission in private colleges/ University like Chandigarh University, Lovely Professional University ,Graphic Era, Galgotia University, Amity University

Yes you can get NIT campus based on your categorical rank. it will be difficult if you will opt for top or demanding branch like CSE, IT or ECE.
You can opt for Non technical or core branch. Here are some NIT campus suggestion you can try for :-
- Sikkim
- Srinagar
- Manipur
- Jamshedpur
- Arunanchal pradesh
- Meghalaya
apply for branch option like EEE, ETC, MME, Mechanical or civil, Chemical engineering, aeronautical, biomedical. These will hold high chance to get you a seat at NIT campus.
