With a rank of 167000, you won't get Computer Science in Thapar University, as the cutoff for Punjab region is 61324 and 27614 for non-punjab region.

There are very high chances of getting into Thapar with your rank. The closing rank last year was 2.2 lac. So there won't be any issue at all.

I am sorry to say that you won't be able to get a seat in computer science in NIT. You got very big rank. You can try local universities or local engineering colleges with some other entrance exam or with 12th marks.
