Hello!

As you have just completed your 12th class so now you have more time for IAS preparation. First select a stream for graduation which will be easy enough to study while preparing for UPSC .Mostly go for the stream which you are going to take as optional subject for UPSC and in which you have interest. Most important habit to develop for this exam is start newspaper reading from now and analyse your UPSC syllabus and just see all your previous year question papers. As you will get time start reading ncert of class 6 to 12 so that you can prepare your base good and then go for reference books when all the ncert are at your fingertips.

Good go but you cannot become an ias officer Immediately after completing 12th you must need a degree from UGC recognised institute since bachelor degree is the minimum qualification. You can opt for humanities as it is the bastion of civil service examination. After completing the degree apply for CSE exam in UPSC.
