Hello Aspirant,
See the seat allotment process is totally. different from all these four attempts of JEE-Main. Let us discuss it in detail,
First of all you have to appear for JEE-Main and you can appear either for only one attempt or two attempt or three attempt or for all four attempts, but the final result will be made on the basis of your best score means if you have appeared for all four attempt but secured your best marks in third attempt which will be conducted in month of April so the final result will be considered as the result of April month. Now once the final results are out along with the cut-offs so the qualified candidates will be eligible to sit for JEE-Advance 2021 and then if you clear JEE-Advance then you are eligible for admission to IITs and IIST.
But if you don't clear JEE-Advance but secured good result in JEE-Main then you can get seat in any of the NITs through your JEE-Main result only and note that this seat allotment process will be started after the declaration of JEE-Advance result and this seat allotment process is conducted by JOSAA and CSAB.
On December 16th 2020 the application process for JEE-Main 2021 Feberuary attempt has been started by National Testing Agency (NTA) which is the conducting authority for JEE-Main 2021. You can apply for JEE-Main from the official portal of JEE-Main which is given below :-

Admit cards will be available for download from second week of February 2021 and the examination will be conducted from February 23rd to February 26th 2021 in two shifts per day, for February attempt.
A candidate will also have option to apply for one Session or more than one Session (February/ March /April /May 2021) together and pay exam fee accordingly. In other words, if a candidate wishes to apply only for one Session, he / she has to pay Examination Fee only for that Session during the current application period and will have opportunity to apply again for the March/ April / May Sessions.

Good Luck!!
Jee mains is the door to admission in various nit's/ iiit's / gfti's all over India while jee advanced is the door to admission in various iit's. If you clear jee mains but are not able to clear jee advanced then yiu would be definitely eligible for admission in a nit/ iiit/gfti based on your rank. If you crack jee advanced even then you would have two options: either to go for colleges that you are getting on the basis of jee mains or pick colleges that take admission on the basis of jee advanced. But your rank must be good enough to meet the cut offs of the iit's /nit's/ iiit's / gfti's .
