Sir, to get specialization in Corporate Law, BA LLB (Integrated) is ok or should have BBA LLB, BCom LLB...??
Greetings !
BBA LLB is a 5 year Integrated Law course which will combine and undergraduate degree of BBA along with Law. So normally it would take you 6 years to complete such a course- 3 years for BBA and 3 years for Law but here it is an integrated course completed im 5 years. Similarly in case of BCOM LLB you combine a BCOM degree with Law and complete it in 5 years.
While choosing between the two you should know that the career opportunities offered by both the courses do not vary much. A BCOM LLB graduate will not have any edge above a BBA LLb graduate and vice a versa. The only different that the two course make is that you specialize in any filed of law such as Corporate Laws and in the other taxation law. If you're sure that you want to pursue a career in that particular direction, then you can choose the course accordingly. Though corporate law will include specialization in company law, business law and other such subjects. Whereas in taxation laws it will be related to tax, Income tax, Direct, Indirect taxes and more.
In case you plan to go intoLitigation/Judicial Services/Civil or Law services examsthe choice of course will not matter. In case you decide to pursue in a Corporate field ,the chances still remain the same, practically. BCOM graduates have equal opportunities like a BBA graduate or even BA graduates. The placements for both are similar. It matters more on the internships, moots, research papers more than the choice of course. So you can even pursue BA LLB while being interested in corporate law. As the colleges like NLU delhi, NLS Bangalore with the highest and best placements in corporate offer only BA LLB.It is just that, in practical terms, a BBA/BCOM graduate with specialisation will still have a better understanding and foundation of their respective concept.Hence, while deciding between the two you should look at what subjects you are interested it and pursue that course as it will make your entire course more fruitful. Also, make sure that you consider the plans that you have in mind for the future, which can help yoi decide which course you would want to opt. Even though the choice between the two will not cause any huge difference in your career opportunities, but it can help you in specialization and more.
Wish You Good Luck !!
