Sir what is difference between caste name and caste catagory.my surname is kumar,should I write kumar in caste name?

Hi dear,
There is a specific caste for most of the surname such as Singh,Jha,pandit,Mishra,Sharma with these surname they will identify your caste.Each cast has categoried as General,Obc,SC and ST.So you should ask with your parents about your cast and category.
