See if you want to hear the truth then I would suggest you not to take civil branch in any private engineering colleges the position of civil engineering is not that much good in IITs too and most of the IITans in branches like civil, chemical ,mechanical etc studies CSE syllabus right from their 1st year.If you are really deeply passionate about civil then only go for civil engineering.
In India in almost of all colleges doesn’t provide best placements for Civil Engineering. Only few colleges like IIT’s, NIT’s and private universities like VIT, SRM and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham provides best placements for civil Engineering. And the remaining college students most of them enter into software field And few of them go through MBAor civil services
All the branches have emerging career in today society. Coming to civil engineering,The the job oppurtunities are comparitively very less than the IT branches. Civil from iits and nits have more scope than that of private colleges. The pay is very less in the beginning and also the work is hectic. If you are yet to choose a branch i suggest you yo go for IT branches and if you already chose civil engineering, work smarter get good grade and get placement in campus.
On the other hand gate is the best option for civil engineers and through gate score psu companies recruit you with very good pay(approx 1lakh /month).
As civil companies approch less for campuses and the number is even very less for private colleges. So choose best for yourself
