Dear Niki
It is difficult to exactly predict the rank which one should get in order to get admission in Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) in Radiology or General Medicine course, given that the ranks needed change every year with the number of other aspirants competing, the difficulty level of exam, etc.
However, you could get an idea of the same from previous year data. Now, there are some issues in exactly taking-up previous year data of NEET PG and applying it for this year's admissions because last year NEET PG was conducted for 1500 marks, while for this year, i.e. NEET PG 2018 has been conducted for a total of 1200 marks and results have been given accordingly.
So, it is highly likely that the marks/ranks needed for admission might not look very similar to last year admission. But still, I am giving you whatever previous year rank data I have available . Below given is the last ‘Rank’ which got admission in M.D. General Medicine, M.D. Radiotherapy and M.D. Radio-diagnosis courses under 50% All India Quota.
M.D. General Medicine- The last rank in general category candidate who got admission in MD Gen. Medicine course in NEET PG 2017 50% AIQ counselling was 2,974. It is futile to give the marks since NEET PG 2017 maximum marks (1500) were different from NEET PG 2018 max. Marks (1200).
M.D. Radio-Therapy- The last rank in general category candidate who got admission in MD Radio-therapy course in NEET PG 2017 50% AIQ counselling was 7,211.
M.D. Radio-Diagnosis- The last rank in general category candidate who got admission in MD Radio-diagnosis course in NEET PG 2017 50% AIQ counselling was 2,186.
In case you wish to get admission in any of the three courses under 50% AIQ counselling, then going by previous year data, you may aim at a rank of 2,000 or below for Gen. Medicine and Radio Diagnosis courses, while about 5,000 rank for admission in Radio therapy course, in NEET PG 2018.
As asked by you, the data of state quota, under which VMMC will also fall, is huge and it is difficult to mannually dig PG admission course-wise data for every college in all states of India. In case you wish to know about your chances of getting VMMC college, you can use the automated College Predictor tool of Careers360 once NEET PG rank cards are released tommorrow. You can enter your rank and marks scored, and it will give you the list of colleges you might get admissions in. The NEET PG College predictor tool will coallate data of many previous years’ , normalize it (by making different maximum marks (like 1500 of NEET 2017 & 1200 of NEET 2018) comparable) and give you the prediction.
Feel free to ask any follow-up questions that you may have.
I hope it will help. All the best!
