Opening rank is starting or best rank that a particular college selected and admitted a student.

Closing rank is the last rank after which no student was selected and admitted in the college.

It is separate for different categories and Home/Other state criteria too.

It would be required that you tell us which college you want to take admssion in along with the subject you want, your category as well as your home state.
