Hello Karthik..
Greetings!!
The Rank depends on your category of reservation,
RVCE is very reputed college in the KCET group of engineering colleges and hence demand is very high and generally it comes in first priority with candidates of high score.Since Bangalore is Silicon City, the demand for computers in engineering is seeing a very high demand along with ECE.
In RVCE for general merit, upto 280 rank, chances are there, for scoring 280 rank, if you see the statistics of 2015 KCET, an average score (i.e 50% board marks + 50% CET marks) should be around 89 to 90%.
It translates to getting around 275 and above for 300 marks in board exam for main 3 subjects i.e Physics , chemistry and maths and in CET entrance you should try to get atl least 54 in physics for 60 marks, 46 in chemistry for 60 marks and 54 in maths for 60 marks, to just get into RVCE Computer science, in case of General Merit.
Scoring in KCET , above 50 in physics and maths chances are possible, but in chemistry it is tough, hence I have mentioned 46 in it. But with this target you may make it. For other reservation categories, it will be obviously less, for example, a ST candidate with around 6,800 rank i.e with average score of 73% has made it and a SC candidate with 18,600 rank i.e with average score of 64% has made it in 2015 KCET. For other backward classes may be within 1000 rank will do (i.e around average score of 83% ).
