Dear Ankit!

To become an ultrasound technician, that is a sonographer, you can go for degree or diploma courses right after class 12th.

For BSc degrees like

B.Sc medical imaging technology

BSc. Medical Lab Technology

BSc. Radiography/Radiology

eligibility: must have passed with at least 50% in class 12th in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, biology) stream

Duration: BSc. lasts for three years.

Diploma courses :

-Ultrasound Diploma Course

- Diploma in Radiography

Duration: Diploma courses last for 6 months.

eligibility: You need to have passed with minimum 50% marks in any stream.

Thus, while PCB stream in 12th is compulsory to pursue BSc, no such requirement is there for diploma courses.
