Sir/Ma'am, I would like to know if a student gets a seat through the NEET MDS exam, can they leave the seat midway if they get selected in the INI CET entrance and take admission there? Or will they be debarred for a certain number of years? Thank you, Regards.

Hello aspirant,
Yes, a student who secures a seat through the NEET MDS exam and later gets selected in the INI CET exam can leave the NEET MDS seat. There is no specific provision for debarment or any other penalty in such cases.

However, it's important to note that:

  • Counseling rules: The counseling authorities for NEET MDS may have specific guidelines regarding withdrawing from a seat after accepting it. It's advisable to check the rules and regulations of the counseling body to understand any potential consequences.
  • Seat forfeiture: If a student leaves a NEET MDS seat after accepting it, the seat may be forfeited, and it could be offered to another candidate.

It's recommended to consult with the counseling authorities or the concerned medical college for detailed information on the specific procedures and implications of leaving a NEET MDS seat.

I hope this information helps you.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

My question was specifically for the case where someone leaves mid session, few months after the first year has started, in a government college. Apart from the financial penalties incurred at the former college, can the INI CET refuse to grant admission to such candidates on the grounds of wasting a seat?

Thank you again,
Regards.

Saveetha The decision of whether or not to grant admission to a candidate who leaves mid-session in a government college, apart from financial penalties, is primarily determined by the admission policies and regulations of the specific INI CET conducting institution.

However, it's generally unlikely that INI CET would refuse admission solely on the grounds of wasting a seat. The primary focus of admission processes is typically on the candidate's academic qualifications, performance in entrance exams, and other relevant criteria.
