Hello Aspirant
Self study is very important as it tells you about your weakness, your strong subject/topics. It helps you in understanding topics at your own pace. It is very good that you want to do self preparation of JEE at home. But, self - study only pays when you do your studies with discipline and regularity. Both of them are required along self study to clear any exam. So, I suggest you that you should before starting preparation, you should make a timetable and follow that timetable regularly. In this way, you can achieve your goal without any stress and also, you will get confidence.
Now, talking about JEE, first read NCERT books of Maths, Physics and Chemistry as it will help you in making a foundation. Now, after reading a chapter from NCERT, use another book for understanding advanced topics and to solve problems. Solving problems along is very important.
Now, here are books which you should follow:
For Mathematics:
- Amit M Agarwal (for calculus)
- SL Loney (for trigonometry and coordinate geometry)
- SK Goyal (for Algebra)
For Physics:
- Concepts of Physics by HC Verma (Vol. 1 and 2)
- Understanding Physics by DC Pandey (All volumes)
For Chemistry:
- P. Bahadur (for Physical Chemistry)
- O.P. Tandon (for Organic Chemistry)

Firstly you should focus on the ncert of chemistry, physics and mathematics for basic knowledge. For chemistry, ncert and previous year's question papers are enough. For physics go through ncert and you can choose books for jee main and advanced by arihant to practice questions and also don't forget previous year's question papers. For maths, previous years and r.d.sharma along with previous years would be a great choice.
