Sir,I got a seat in iit khargpur in preparatory course in mechanical engineering.After passing preparatory course then can I get mechanical engineering in that institute.Please reply sir.
As you asked getting selected in preparatory course doesn't mean you got the seat. So, if you do well in preparatory course then you will get a seat in mechanical branch of that college . So this can't be predicted, so do well in your preparatory course and score well in all the exams given .

Hi hope you are doing good, congratulations for getting selected in a preparatory course.
You need to understand that getting selected for a preparatory course does not mandatory get your seat. It depends on the result of the exam which would be conducted after this preparatory course ends. You need to be very much prepared as competition would be high.
If you pass you would be given direct entry into the mechanical branch of the institute.
