Dear Aspirant
According to the infornmation provided by you regarding your scores in past academics i would say that your profile is below average. Please understnd that IIM abc are the pinnacle of MBA education in india they do not accept candidates with lower marks, so to be very straight forward you will not get a call at anything below 99.9 percentile.
But you have fair chances in new IIMs if you score above 95 percentile. So please concentrate and get a good score in cat
Based on your academic profile, only getting a 100 percentile can fetch you a call from IIM A and IIM C. You might miss out a chance in IIM B even if you score a perfect 100 percentile.
All the best!
If you want to choose from amongst IIM A,B,C, you should score extremely well in CAT because these colleges give a call at 99.5+ percentile. IIM A does not give weightage to 10th score much but IIM B focusses on it and same for IIM C
You need to be well versed with current affairs, general knowledge, technical plus management knowledge to ace the process. All the above scores are taken into account for final admissions.
Minimum of 98 percentile is must to get a call from top IIMs.
After the information is shared each IIM makes it's its own merit list on the aggregate score of individuals which consists of different parameters like CAT marks, 10th 12th and graduation percentage, work experience, engineer or non engineer, gender with different weightages for different IIMs. On the basis of this merit list college call you for next round of interview and WSAT. After this round again a new merit list is made including interview and WSAT marks which generally has highest weightage in final list and is used to offer admissions.
As you have an average academic background so it will be a little difficult to get a call from IIM A, B and C. You need to aim for a very high percentile in order to get a call. Generally from past few years trends you need to score above 99.67 percentile in order to get a call from IIM A, B and C. But even after scoring this there is no surity of getting a call for interview as you need to clear the minimum score set on te basis of all parameters except CAT marks in order to get further evaluated in IIM A and IIM B focuses much more on work experience.
So it's a hard to get a call but not impossible so aim for a very high percentile like above 99.85 in order to get a call from top IIMs.
All the best for your preparations and exams!!
