Hello Bhushan,
The scope is generally the availability of the opportunity. Chemical engineering sector is full of opportunities if you analyze it in the right way. Let me tell you theoretically everything around you that is being made y man has the role of a chemical engineer. I would like to different types of opportunities.
Jobs Private and Public: Chemical engineers are hired by many private companies like HUL, Reliance, BASF, etc as design or production engineer. Many public companies like HPCL, BPCL, etc hire them for the same reason. Many companies are R&D oriented and require research scholars with a chemical engineering background. Many government bodies like NEERI, NCL, CPCB, etc hire them too.
Teaching: Chemical engineers are highly paid teachers. But to be a teacher in a decent college you have to have Ph.D. Person who loves teaching, wants to have a stable family life and loves exploring in research generally opt for these jobs.
Entrepreneur: There is a lot of demand for chemical and related products in the market. If you have the urge to set up your own company then you are good to go. There are many people who do not have very big production units but what they do is smartly produce something that is much more valuable.
The scope is vast, and opportunities are unlimited you just need to grab them when these opportunities come in your way.
Good luck!
