On the basis of your rank, things would depend on whether you have any reservation or not depending upon your category. I would suggest that you first take the help of the JEE MAINS college predictor and have a look at your options. If you are satisfied with your options, you can wait for the counseling to begin, else, you can look and try for admission in other private universities or colleges in your locality.

There is another option. If your intermediate marks are very good, you can look for colleges that take admission via intermediate percentage and apply to those colleges.
