Hello Priyanka
First of all, it is purely based on your interest. However, if you are not very sure what your interests are, you should choose a specialization which is in demand. Coming to the current trends, almost all the available specialization like Power Electronics, Control System, Power System and Signal Processing are well in use.
But from my personal experience, what I feel is that a control system engineer can go in any direction, while the others might not be able to do so. Control System finds its application almost every where. Being a control system engineer, you can work in Power System, Power Electronics and even signal processing. Some trending courses like Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic and even Machine Learning are a part of the Control System course work. Not to mention, other branches have their own advantages, but control system gives you an additional advantage to choose your line of thesis work.
Hi,
Power electronics: It's the backbone of major power devices. Grid and renewable application
So it is always a good future scope and have good opportunities in R&D.
Power Drives: It is again dependent on power Electronics ,but it has its own specialization with repect to machines control.
Allmost everywhere machines are used from robotics to computer to electrical vehicles, and many more so this field is again a great future.
Control system: It includes automations and critical designing of any application according to control point of view. More than 97% application required rigid control engineering.
