Fortunately, there is a state quota provided by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), from the admission through JEE Main in the prestigious National Institutes of Technologies (NITs). All the NITs have a state quota, and if you have the domicile of the state in which the NIT is situated in, you can get admission in the same at a rank lower than your counterparts from other states. To explore these, you may see the previous cut-offs of different NIT and look out for the home-state quota to see the difference.

Hope I have answered your question. All the best!
