I don't know what are you saying. If you are saying just that statistics is good for career then yes sometimes. Because you all predict something about our future so go for this prediction. And try to complete our dream. For all this step one type of statistics.
If you are asking that statistics is good or not as a subject wise then it's a good subject for career wise. You can go for marketing, economics, biology, public health, sports in any department with this subject.

Statistics is a good career choice if only you are very passionate about that.
As rightly said by CR Venkataraman, in India you will not have much scope but abroad you stand a good chance with big companies.
