Dear Sujal,
After 12 , there is two ways mainly to become a good software engineer.
Well, in Engineering field , first of all you need to appear for national/state level Entrance exam and take your preferred domain based on the required cut off .
Some of the names of national/state level entrance exam are :
It would be better , if you choose CSE/IT as your preferred domain as software engineering is very much relevant work field with CSE course . But , if you choose any non-IT courses like ECE, EE etc. then also you are eligible . The basic requirements to become a software engineer is to gain the knowledge of Web development , Coding(advanced) in several prog. languages , app development and some other subjects.. you can achieve this knowledge from various online platforms through online certification course like coursera, Udemy etc.
In BCA- MCA field, if you are passionate about computer application related programs , then you can choose this field .. after MCA , you can become a good Comp sc engineer relevant positions to CSE graduates .
In B.SC- M.SC field also, if you are a good coder or have a well interest in coding and backend development , you can go with these field .
Note : The eligibility criteria for taking UG admission (like 12th qualifying marks, entrance exam cut off for separate domain ) can vary institute wise .
