Dear Student,

you can use some of the tips given below while preparing for your exams,

  • Be thorough of the exam syllabus and pattern
  • Practice and solve previous years question papers as it will give you a good idea of how the questions are asked
  • You need to have a pretty good knowledge in English as the question paper will be given in English
  • For the English section, practice reading comprehension, writing essays and practicing your grammar
  • Some of the recommended books are :-
    • Principles and Practice of Silviculture by L.S. Khanna
    • Theory and Practice of Silviculture Systems by Ram Prakash, L S Khanna (but wasn’t able to revise) and K. Manikandan and S. Prabhu
    • Indian Forestry by K. Manikandan and S. Prabhu
    • Forest Management byPrakash Ram
    • Agroforestry: Indian Perspective byL. K. Jha

You can take Forestry as your optional subject as it is very interesting, scoring and since its based on actual factual data there is not a lot to memorize such as dates and events.
