Student from any state can take HPCET 2018
Himachal Pradesh Technical University will be conducting the offline entrance examination of HPCET 2018 tentatively in the second week of May 2018. All candidates who wish to get allotted in the participating institutes of HPCET 2018 will have to successfully register themselves. The online application form of HPCET 2018 will be available tentatively from the first week of March 2018. The candidates will have to fill the application form with the required valid information and submit it tentatively till the first week of May 2018. The admit card will be generated only for those candidates who manage to register themselves. First 50% of the seats through HPCET will be filled by JEE Main 2018 qualified candidates while the remaining seats will be filled by HPCET 2018 qualified candidates. Separate merit list will be prepared for both categories. The counselling session will be held where seats will be allotted according to the ranking and preference of the candidates. HPCET 2018 currently has around 18 participating institutes which offers as many as 10 B.Tech courses
Eligibility Criteria for getting into HPTU : The conditions and requirements that all candidates will have to fulfil for admissions comprises the eligibility criteria of HPCET 2018. All candidates who wish to participate in the entrance examination of HPCET 2018 will have to satisfy the eligibility requirements. Failure to do so will lead to the disqualification of the candidates.
The candidates should have qualified 10+2 (or equivalent examination) from a recognized board/University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects – Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subjects.
General category candidates should have scored minimum 45% marks in aggregate, while reserved category candidates should have secured minimum 40% marks in 10+2 (or equivalent) examination.
Those candidates who have qualified JEE Main 2018 will not have to participate in the entrance examination of HPCET 2018 and will be eligible for direct admissions .
