Thanks for asking your query,from 2nd year you should be more focused on coding, algorithm and different programming languages because more practice will strengthen your skills in cs and help you to code hard programming problems.You might take extra course in cs for your benefits.

Hi Arka, in second year of engineering you should mainly focus on coding, problem solving etc. You should also study Data Structure with utmost care. It's very important. Also participate in online coding competitions.
If you are interested, you can also start learning about Data science and cloud computing.
Coding is important, always remember.

2nd year is the time when student face their core branch subjects and it is the high time when you need to take a crucial decision regarding what do you really want to do :-
1. Your first prority should be understand your core subjects.
2. If you're really passionate with your CSE then you should choose one particular programming language and start learning it and try to be master in that language.
3. For CSE students DSA is must, so you should also learn it.
4. You should also start practicing Aptitude.
5. If you really like CSE then GATE should be your firat priority.
6. If you're interested in management then start preparing for the CAT.
7. And utmost important thing is that you should learn TIME MANAGEMENT.

Strength is your skills like coding, problem solving, making brute Force algorithms and optimizing it.
Along with that there are many fields like data science,cloud computing and many ways where you can do invent many exceptional projects.
It depends on the students which is intersection for her/his.
But being a CSE student coding is must.
