Correct Answer: 1 : 1

Solution : Total students in school B = 400
Students opted for biology in school B = 36% = $\frac{36}{100}\times400=144$
Total students in school D = 800
Students opted for biology in school D = 18% = $\frac{18}{100}\times800=144$
The ratio of students of B to D = 144 : 144 = 1 : 1
Hence, the correct answer is 1 : 1.
