The name of shukla yug is given because of teacher(aacharaya) ramchandra shukla.He is known as as the person who set the firm the stance of Hindi Literature using his research.

He was born on October 4th,1882 in Basti district. He was born in a wealthy Brahmin family and had a good knowledge of Hindi,English and Urdu.One of his most famous and reputed work is Hindi Sahitya Ka Itihaas.
