In other countries, there is no age limit for the candidates to study medicine. Even in our country, there is no hard age limit for those students appearing for law or management studies. Then why is it mandatory to keep a rigid age limit for the medical aspirants. It is a positive stand taken by the supreme court regarding the upper age limit of the candidate.

Candidates crossing the age limit i.e. 25 and above (30 and above in case of reserved categories) has been allowed to take the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2019.

The admission to medical and dental courses for these candidates will be subject to the final outcome of the case.

Also, Supreme Court has directed NTA to extend the NEET deadline by one week.
