I hope you'll be glad to know that i am pursuing b.sc stats from University of delhi (Ramjas college). So i think , i can answer you in a much better way . So look , coming to the syllabus , the syllabus is not so hard. You can even cover the syllabus in one night before exam and can still score 8+ CGPA (this is what i do).And ,  if you want to have your future in statistics , then you should study daily . But in that case , it will be hard for you to pursue other time consuming courses. Yes , you can pursue language courses still, even many of my friends are doing this and managing good .So , you can definitely try that

And as far as placements are concerned , so it totally depends upon the college. In my college , 2 out of 100 students got placed. So , the placements are not much good in my college. Also , there were so less students interested in placements. The placement records can be even better in other colleges like hindu college , KMC college.
