General Studies- I Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society.
General Studies –II Governance, Constitution, Polity, Social Justice and International relations.
General Studies –III Technology, Economic Development, Bio diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management.
General Studies –IV Ethics, Integrity, and Aptitude
If you qualify the Mains then you will be called for the interview.

The syllabus for computer science engineers is same for all other stream syllabus. First of all you have to clear in which exam you want to appear in IAS/IPS exam or in IES exam. IAS exams is the administrative services exam. There are two exams in it, upsc prelim exam and upsc mains exam. In upsc prelim exam you have to face objective type questions in which you will be asked for general studies like G.K., English etc. This exam pattern is of class 10 level. In upsc mains exam there are nine papers. In which 1st paper is for Language subject like Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, etc. you can choose any language subject in 28 languages. 2nd paper is of essay paper and 3rd is of English subject paper. All other papers are of main subjects in which you have to choose subjects like Sociology, History, Science, Commerce etc. You can choose subjects in any stream.
