The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is primarily designed for candidates who have a domicile in Karnataka, However, there are specific eligibility clauses under which students from other states, including Tamil Nadu, may be eligible to appear for KCET:

Mother Tongue Clause:

If your mother tongue is Kannada, Tulu, or Kodava, and you have studied for at least 7 years between 1st and 12th standard in Karnataka

Parent's Education Clause:

If either of your parents has studied in Karnataka for a minimum of 7 years, you might be eligible

Parent's Employment Clause:

If your parent is an employee of the Union or Karnataka State Government and has served in Karnataka for at least one year during your 11th and 12th grades

MP Quota:

If you are the son or daughter of a Member of Parliament elected from Karnataka

All India Service of Karnataka Cadre:

If you are the son or daughter of an employee belonging to the All India Service of Karnataka cadre

Unfortunately, students from Tamil Nadu are not eligible to attend the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET).

KCET is primarily for students who have a Karnataka domicile. This means you must be residing in Karnataka and have the intention to make it your permanent home.

There are a few specific exceptions, such as children of defense personnel or government employees who have served in Karnataka, but generally, students who have completed their education outside of Karnataka are not eligible.

If you are a student from Tamil Nadu looking to study in Karnataka, you may want to consider other options like the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) exam, which is for admission to private engineering colleges in Karnataka.

Hello

No, Tamil Nadu students are generally not eligible to write the KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test) unless they fulfill specific eligibility criteria. KCET is primarily for Karnataka domicile students.

Eligibility Criteria for Non-Karnataka Students :

1. Domicile Requirement:

Candidates must have studied in Karnataka for 7 years or have a Karnataka domicile certificate.

2. Parents' Education/Employment:

If the candidate's parents studied in Karnataka for at least 7 years, they may be eligible.

If the candidate’s parents work in Karnataka Government or Defense and have been posted there for a certain number of years, the candidate may be eligible under certain clauses.

hope this helps you .
