Practice Questions: Legal Reasoning | Quantitative | Criminal Law
Greetings,
Mohamed so as you already might know the pattern of the paper till now but just for an information it contains 5 section general awareness (50 marks) , legal reasoning( 50 marks ) , logical reasoning ( 40 marks) , english ( 40 marks) , maths ( 10 marks ) . So according to the marks division you can infer that you need to focus more on general awareness as well as legal reasoning then coming down to the rest . At this point I am assuming that you must have gone or are taking any of the law based coaching classes for an year if not I would suggest you to enrol for thier Mock test series where in these last few months you will get a decent idea as to how questions are framed , different patterns, time division etc. and it will also be good for your practice.
GENRAL AWARENESS
Look out for any good current affairs magazine. I would suggest Competition In Focus and Monorama . Take their monthly edition . They have MCQ at the back which is quick to learn. Subscribe to You Tube Channel of leading newspapers. Download current affairs app. Read from GKtoday and jagarjosh or any other website you wish .
LEGAL REASONING
In my opinion if you have not joined any coaching classes then do go for their mock test because this section is hard and requires at least 4 to 5 months to clear out all the concepts because you need to study basic foundation questions of law of tort , law of contracts, criminal law and constitutional law . The questions on internet regarding this section would be very limited and even the understanding . You can solve various previous year's question paper to get an idea.
LOGICAL REASONING
Do download, look out and solve every competitive exam paper because this section is present in every entrance exam and you will get a fair idea of the questions. Download SSC papers which will be in bulk on internet . For analytical reasoning buy MK Pandey's book on this topic .
ENGLISH
For this section I would suggest you to read newspaper basically editorials daily to mark the use of grammar used in them . Download grammarly app. Solve other entrance exam papers . Try to solve error base questions in these paper , you can get command on this section if you practice hard enough. Subscribe to YOU tube Channel which has over 1000 types of MCQ questions based on this error correction . That video would be of around half an hour or more but will help you get into practicing it daily .
MATHS
As this is section contains the least but needs to be taken care of , clear your doubts from RD and RS SHARMA of 9 th and 10 th standard . In my opinion this would be enough to score high in this section. You can always go online or on You Tube for concept clarification .
I hope this article might have helped you . Even after that if you have any doubt or further question do drop a comment or post another question and I will surely help you out .
Hi,
CLAT is a comptetitive exam that requires pratice more than anything. They are easy if you have extensively practiced.
For this reason, books are a better option because you have lots of questions, worksheets and papers to solve as you go about preparing. However, you may substitute this with referring to material online.
www.lawentrance.com is beneficial for you.
Still, doing pratice papers is of paramount importance and therefore, you must work on several tests and quizzes while preparing.
General Knowledge and Current Affairs is a strength that you can work on to secure full marks in. therefore, keep yourself updated of important information especially that of the past one year.
Hope this helps,
All the best
Hello dear
Clat is an entrance exam that tests your Awareness and Aptitude. So you have to initiate steps to improve your awareness.
Read newspapers everyday and make a note of the most important happenings under different heads. If you do this throughout the year you need not memorise compendiums which are rote and boring .
Read Political Science,History, Sociology, Economics books of class 12 and Class 11 CBSE in your free time. That is enough for static General Knowledge.Read it once or twice. These books are very interesting too. Please do not waste time reading other books because GK is anything under the sun.
This year there weren’t any legal maxims. But try learning the most common ones. Legal Reasoning is the most interesting section. Do not over stress. Just blindly apply the principle in the answer.
Class 11 Political Science book could help for Static Legal. Join an online course (Law School 101 or Sriram Law academy). Try to read some Important Articles.
Logical Reasoning can be aced with practice to some extent. But the presence of mind you have in the exam hall matters more. Know the basics of various areas in Logical Reasoning. Probably a week or two is enough for that.
Learn basic English grammar. Try reading comprehensions. Again it is all based on your luck and ability no matter how hard you prepare Reading Comprehensions. Do not waste time memorising words. If you really want to, go with Word Power made easy by Norman Lewis. Take time to learn it throughout the year.
Math is always hard. Prepare basic concepts in different topics. Practice well. Give this least importance as it is time consuming. Aim for 9 to 11 marks out of 20.
Everything depends on you. If you make the best use of your free time you will nail the exam. And don’t even consider it for the exam. All these will make you a productive and brainy individual.
Give your best. Get ready for the worst. All the very best. :-)
