AFCAT:
Indian Air Force (IAF) conducts Air Force Commission Admission Test (AFCAT) for recruitment of Commissioned Officers. Candidates are recruited for Short Service Commission (SSC) in Flying Branch and Permanent Commission (PC)/Short Service Commission (SSC) in Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. The exam is conducted twice a year – February and August. The salary for flying officer is Rs. 56100 – 110700 besides other privileges and allowances.
Indian Air Force Airmen 2019 Selection Group X and Y

Indian Air Force releases notification for the recruitment of Airmen. Unmarried male in group X trades (except education instructor trade) and group Y trades (except automobile technician, ground training instructor, Indian air force (police), Indian air force (security) and musician trades) can apply for the exam. The selection procedure involves - online exam, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), and medical examination. Final merit list is prepared on the basis of candidate’s performance in these test. Selection in Indian Air Force will be done purely on merit.
NDA: National Defence Academy & Naval Academy commonly referred as NDA/ NA is a national level entrance exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for 10+2/ HSC candidates who wish to pursue their career as commissioned officers in Army, Navy, Air Force and Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). NDA is conducted twice a year. Candidates who are minimum of 16.5 years of age and have passed or will be passing 10+2/HSC are eligible to apply.
CDS: Combined Defence Services commonly known as CDS is conducted twice a year by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for graduate candidates who wish to pursue their career as commissioned officers in Army, Navy and Air Force. CDS 2017 is conducted for officers’ vacancies in Indian Army, Navy, Air Force. CDS is conducted two times a year – CDS I and CDS II. Candidates are selected based on written exam and Interview. Selected candidates are trained at Indian Military Academy (IMA Dehradun), Indian Naval Academy (INA Ezhimala), and Officers’ Training Academy (OTA Chennai).
