The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a two-year post-graduate programme offered in a variety of specialisations throughout India and abroad. The best MBA colleges in India admit students based on a national level entrance exam called the Common Aptitude Test (CAT), which is held once a year. Admission to all B-schools is through MBA admission test which are of the following type:
National Level Entrance which is conducted by a top national management school on behalf of other participating colleges eg CAT,CMAT,MAT etc.
State Level Entrance conducted by a state level testing body or a top B-school on behalf of other participating college in that state eg: MAH-CET,KMAT,OJEE etc.
B-school conducts test for its own MBA programme. Other management schools accept these scores as qualifying criteria, for example, IIFT, XAT, NMAT, SNAP, IBSAT.
University also conducts test which are offered by colleges affiliated with it, for example, KIITEE, HPU MAT.
This admission process is on the basis of entrance exam followed by group discussion and then interviews.
