Go for CSE.

Actually both Maths and CSE are required for machine learning and cannot be differentiated

But you must concentrate on logics part of mathematics.

Hello Kartik. Thanks for contacting Careers360 and we hope we will be able to answer your query.

I would like to elaborate a little on my answer.

Technically speaking, Computer Science is also a branch of Mathematics, at least in its classical sense.

Hence, Machine Learning is very much an interdisciplinary field within the mathematical and computational sciences, at the intersection of Computer Science, Statistics and Artificial Intelligence.

I would please advice you to see these following Quora questions:

  • https://www.quora.com/What-are-the-mathematical-pre-requisites-for-studying-machine-learning
  • https://www.quora.com/Does-a-masters-degree-in-Applied-Mathematics-offer-good-career-prospects-in-Machine-Learning-AI

The major opinion of the researchers is that ML and AI have a lot of maths inbuilt in them. So, you can very well do your masters in Applied Maths. But, at the same time, please try to get some work opportunities where you can also show your coding skills.

Hope this helps you and all the best!

Well I would suggest to to go for CSE as the fields in which you want expertise in i.e. Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence require programming skills as well along with mathematics.

-cheers :)

Hi Priyansh Jain. To please elaborate your answers from next time.  You are guiding these students and not just giving them one-line advices. Thank you.

Surely @Rohan, will take care of it from next time while delivering suggestive answers. But to be honest, I personally prefer brief answers as they impart direct and straight to the point information to the person, which would help the visitor to take a firm decision. And I suppose I just jotted down all the vital points which a visitor will wish to see. Not only this, talking of human psychology, people usually prefer short answers, as long answers sometimes distract the visitor from the topic, and hence leaves the visitor ending up with more confusion.
Thank You :)
