Correct Answer: 75

Solution : Let the number of students who pass be $x$.
Total marks obtained = 150 × 40 = 6000
According to the question,
60$x$ + (150 – $x$)20 = 6000
⇒ 60$x$ + 3000 – 20$x$ = 6000
⇒ 40$x$ = 3000
⇒ $x$ = 75
Hence, the correct answer is 75.
