Correct Answer: 72

Solution : The total sum of marks was initially = 71 × 17 = 1207
The wrongly entered marks are 65 and 24, so subtract these from the total = 1207 – 65 – 24 = 1118
The correct marks are 56 and 50, so add these to the total = 1118 + 56 + 50 = 1224
Correct average = $\frac{\text{Total correct sum}}{{\text{Number of students}}}=\frac{1224}{17} = 72$
Hence, the correct answer is 72.
