Correct Answer: 40 kg
Solution : The total weight of 64 students with an average weight of 48 kg = 64 × 48 = 3072 kg The total weight of 32 students with an average weight of 24 kg = 32 × 24 = 768 kg The total weight of all the students = 3072 + 768 = 3840 kg The total number of students = 64 + 32 = 96 The average weight of all the students = $\frac{3840}{96}$ = 40 kg Hence, the correct answer is 40 kg.
