Question : The bar chart given below shows the exports (in INR) and imports (in INR) of a country for 5 consecutive years.


What is the positive difference between the total export figures of all the five years taken together and the total import figures of all the five years taken together?

Correct Answer: INR 6,60,000


Solution : From the given bar graph,
The total export figures for all five years taken together =
580 + 670 + 630 + 710 + 790  thousands
= 3380 thousands
And, the total import figures for all five years taken together =
460 + 340 + 510 + 630 + 780  thousands
= 2720 thousands
So, the required difference = 3380 - 2720
= 660 thousands
Hence, the correct answer is INR 6,60,000.
