Question : The bar graph given below shows the marks obtained by two students X and Y in 6 subjects.

What is the ratio of total marks obtained by X in all the subjects to the total marks obtained by Y in all the subjects?

Correct Answer: 49 : 50


Solution : Total marks obtained by X in all the subjects = 120 + 160 + 240 + 200 + 40 + 220 = 980
Total marks obtained by Y in all the subjects = 60 + 280 + 260 + 140 + 180 + 80 = 1000
Required ratio = 980 : 1000 = 49 : 50
Hence, the correct answer is 49 : 50.
