Question : The bar graph given below shows the number of male teachers and female teachers in 5 schools.
 
L1- The difference between the total number of male and female teachers in all the 5 schools.
L2 = Total number of male and female teachers in school H.
What is the value of $\frac{\text{L1}}{\text{L2}}$?

Option 1: 2.66

Option 2: 1.16

Option 3: 0.55

Correct Answer: 1.16


Solution : L1 = (Total male teachers) – (Total female teachers)
= $(240+320+280+200+120)-(320+280+80+40+40+120)$
= $1160 - 880=280$
L2 = Total number of male and female teachers in school H
= $120 + 120= 240$
Ratio = $\frac{\text{L1}}{\text{L2}}=\frac{280}{240}=\frac{7}{6} = 1.16$
Hence, the correct answer is 1.16.
