Correct Answer: 10 years

Solution : The correct answer is 10 .

The British Viceroy Lord Mayo carried it out for the first time in 1872. It is then repeated every ten years after that. Under the auspices of the Indian government's Ministry of Home Affairs, the Registrar General and Census Commissioner have been in charge of it since 1949. The 1948 Census Act was used for all subsequent censuses. There have been fifteen Indian censuses as of 2011.
