Thirteen seats (One in each discipline) are reserved under the scheme of reservation of seats of MHRD, GOI.
2% seats are reserved for outstanding sports persons possessing sports gradation certificates A, B or C issued by the Director of Sports, Punjab
2% seats are reserved for the candidates nominated by Punjab Government. The candidates for these seats are required to appear in the entrance test as specified by Punjab Government.

The university also provides TCD course. It’s a 4-years undergraduate credit transfer International Engineering program which focuses on delivering a research inspired, outcome based educational experience. In this course, students spend first two years at the campus in Patiala, and 3rd and 4th year at the Trinity College Dublin.

All the B.Tech. courses comprise of four years with eight semesters, and Integrated BE-MBA courses comprise of five years with ten semesters. the min. eligibility for applying to B.E. and B.Tech. is, the candidate must have passed class 12th with min. 60% marks. For B.E./B.Tech. Lateral Entry, the candidate must have passed Diploma or must have cleared class 12th with minimum 60% marks. For selection under B.E./B.Tech, candidates are required to sit for JEE Main, which is followed by counselling. For B.E./B.Tech. Lateral Entry, the candidate will be shortlisted on the basis of merit in the LEET exam.
