Correct Answer: 2200
Solution : Let the amount of the bill be Rs. $x$. The single discount of two successive discounts, where $a$ = 20% and $b$ = 20%: $=(a+b-\frac{a×b}{100}$)% $=20+20-\frac{20\times 20}{100}$ $= 40 -4$ $= 36\%$ As per given conditions, 36% of $x$ – 35% of $x$ = 22 ⇒ 1% of $x$ = 22 ⇒ $\frac{x}{100}$ = 22 $\therefore x$ = 2200 Hence, the correct answer is 2200.
