Question : The following table shows the number of watches of 5 brands sold by two showrooms.

M = per brand average number of watches sold from Showroom 1. What is the ratio of the number of watches of Brand 3 sold from Showroom 2 to M?

Solution : From the table, the total number of watches sold by Showroom 1 = 60 + 55 + 75 + 48 + 52 = 290 watches
Since there are 5 brands.
The average number of watches sold per brand from Showroom 1, M = $\frac{290}{5}$ = 58 watches
The number of watches of Brand 3 sold from Showroom 2 is 50.
Therefore, the required ratio = 50 : 58 = 25 : 29
Hence, the correct answer is 25 : 29.
