What is the ratio of the girls from schools A, B, and C taken together to the boys from all schools taken together?

Correct Answer: 17 : 33


Solution : Total number of girls from A, B, and C = 500 + 550 + 650 = 1700
Total number of boys from all school = 600 + 450 + 750 + 700 + 800
= 3300
= $\frac{1700}{3300} = \frac{17}{33}$
$\therefore$ The required ratio is 17 ∶ 33
Hence the correct answer is 17 ∶ 33.
