The Great Rann of Kutch falls into the state of Gujarat, Thar desert in India. It is a vast salt marsh located in the Thar Desert and is the largest salt desert in the world. Animals like the Indian wild ass (Ghudkhur), chinkara (Indian gazelle), blackbuck, desert foxes and various bird species are found in the region.
