We know that , H = I^2Rt

Here R is resistance, I is current, H is the heat and t is time.

Given data:

R1 = 5ohm

H = 10 calories

R2 = 4ohm

Time, t = 1 second

For resistance R1, H= I^2RT

10 = I2 X 5 ohm x1s

I2= 2

Now for resistance R2:

H = I^2Rt

H = 2 X 4 X 1

H=8 calorie
