Hazira-Vijaipur-Jagdishpur, or HVJ, is the first interstate gas pipeline in India. To supply gas to fertiliser factories in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the project got underway in 1986 with the formation of GAIL Limited.

With a capacity of 18.2 MMSCMD, the HVJ pipeline network was constructed to transport gas to the petrochemical, power, fertiliser, and LPG sectors, as well as other industrial consumers in Delhi, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.
