Correct Answer: 3 km/h
Solution : Given, The Iceland team, while rowing, covered a distance of 20 km downstream in 2 hours and the same distance upstream in 5 hours. We know, Distance = speed × time Let the speed of the stream be $x$ and the speed of the boat be $y$. For downstream, $20=(x+y)×2$ ⇒ $20=2x+2y$ ⇒ $x+y=10$...........(1) For upstream, $20=(y−x)×5$ ⇒ $20=5y−5x$ ⇒ $y-x=4$..............(2) Solving (1) and (2), we get, ⇒ $2y=14$ ⇒ $y=7$ ⇒ $x=7-4$ ⇒ $x=3$ Hence, the correct answer is 3 km/hr.
